All Shoes Are Not Equal

Not all shoes are equal.

Today, athletic shoes are a huge industry.  They want to sell shoes.  Yes, of course, there are those who know how to test you, what you run, but there are a few things that you can know that will make a difference.

  1. You should never have to break in a pair of fitness shoes.  They should feel great from the time you put them on until the time they wear out.
  1. Majority of people have to have at least half of a size larger.  When you do sports, your feet swell.  You should have approximately one thumb larger between your big toe and the tip of your shoe.  Because your feet swell, it’s going to push your feet forward as you run or move.  It’s going to press on your toenails.  Runners often lose their toenails because of their toenails rubbing on a pair of shoes.

Today there is a lot of technology out there but not every company applies that technology to the performance of their shoes.  Often it is about fashion.

There are a couple of shoes that I can recommend to you, one being Asic, the others being Mizuno and Saucny.  Saucny are a very light shoe.  You don’t get as much lateral support but they are still an excellent shoe.

Look for bargains.  Many times you can find shops that sell buy one, second one half off especially if you live in Charlotte.  Omega Sports is an excellent place to find a great deal.  You find a good shoe, it goes out of fashion, often you can find it on the web.

Shoes are very important.  It depends on how much traffic you put on your shoe.  If you are working out three times a day your shoe should last you approximately six months.  Once your feet start hurting you, your toes start burning you, you start having shin issues, you should consider buying a new pair of shoes

Shoes are not all equal.  Don’t let anyone talk you into buying something just because it looks good.  You never have to break in a pair of fitness shoes.  If you do, they give you blisters, you need to return them.
